Mandy was the youngest of seven children, born July 17, 1971, to Kern and Pat Ardoin. Mandy graduated from Vidrine High School in 1989 and attended USL for three years. After her three years at USL, she felt a calling to travel with Covenant Players, a traveling drama company which is Christian-mission based.
In 1993 Mandy began her military career. The navy was the first military branch that she decided to pursue. Stationed in Yukosuka, Japan, she obtained top secret clearance. Later she was assigned to the USS LaSalle Flagship. During this assignment, she traveled several places including Gaeta, Italy. This vessel served as a command ship for Joint Task Force in the Middle East, as a flag ship for the sixth fleet. Having served in the Navy, Homeland Security - United States Coast Guard, and Air Force, Mandy retired with 22+ years of Honorable Service. Mandy received numerous commendations throughout her military career. While in the US Navy, she received the NATO Medal, a Bronze Star, Armed Forces Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, and several others. While serving in the Coast Guard she was awarded the Coast Guard Meritorious Team Commendation Ribbon, Global War on Terrorism Award, and the Coast Guard Presidential Unit Citation. While serving in the Air Force she received the Air Force Longevity Service Ribbon with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters. After 22 years of honorable service to the United States of America, Mandy was awarded an Honorable Discharge from service. During this 22+ years of service, she received a Bachelor of Arts in Management from the American Military University.
Mandy finished her professional career as a flight attendant with American Airlines. Her home was in Arlington, Virginia. This profession suited her perfectly as the world was her home.
Mandy was first and foremost a devout Christian. She discerned God’s will in all of her life choices. Mandy wore many hats in her career. She was a nurse assistant at Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, an Emergency Room Technician at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida, and a flight attendant for Miami Air International Charter Airline. She was an English teacher to Spanish students in Guadalajara and Mexico City, Mexico for nearly 4 years. She wanted to glorify God in all that she did. Helping people and spreading kindness were her top priorities in her life.
Mandy has called many places home. She has lived in Missouri, Hawaii, Florida, Georgia, Japan, Italy, Mexico, and Arlington, Virginia. She has traveled to Portugal, Spain, England, Croatia, Ireland, Chili, France, Greece, Israel, Canada, and many other countries. Mandy, being the carefree spirit that she was, enjoyed life anywhere and everywhere.
