Mamou- A Mass of Christian Burial for Bernice Speyrer, 84, will be Celebrated on Saturday, November 1, 2008 at 1:00 pm at St. Anns Catholic Church in Mamou. Rite of Committal will follow in the New St. Anns Cemetery with Father Bryce Sibley officiating.

Bernice, a native of Grand Coteau, and a resident of Reddell passed away on Wednesday, October29, 2008 at the Shumpert Hospital in Shreveport, La at 2:11 AM

She was affectionately known by family and friends as a wonderful cook, baker, and her sewing for family members.

Bernice is survived by two sons, Leo Speyrer, Jr. and wife, Shirley, of Dayline, La. And Lee Speyrer and wife Mary of Reddell, La; three daughters, Jeanette Deshotel, Lucille S. Soileau and husband, Bobby, of Mamou, La, and Betty Fontenot and husband, W.J. of Reddell, La. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Speyrer, Sr. one son-in-law John Herbert Deshotel .

The family request that visiting hours be observed on Friday, October 31, 2008, at the Ardoin Funeral Chapel in Mamou, from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm and again on Saturday, November 1, 2008 from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Friday evening.
