MAMOU-Funeral Services will be held at a 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Mamou on Saturday, February 2, 2019, for Bert Brignac, 79, who passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 in Crowley, LA surrounded by his loved ones.
Father Billy Massie, Pastor at St. Ann's Catholic Church, will be celebrant of the mass and will conduct all funeral services.
Burial will take place in Reed Cemetery in Mamou.
Bert Brignac was born on September 6, 1939 to Lee and Marie Guillory Brignac. A lifelong resident of Mamou, Bert was the owner of Bert's Exxon. After retiring, he farmed cattle and horses. He enjoyed football and loved to cheer for the New Orleans Saints.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Marilyn O'Connor Brignac; two sons Gary Brignac of Mamou and Craig Brignac and wife Connie of Mamou; 4 Grandchildren, Katelyn Berzas and husband Ryan, Julian Brignac, Cade Brignac and Connor Brignac; great grandchildren, Ross Brignac, Auston Berzas, Ryleigh Berzas, and Emmett Berzas; and sister, Marylene Sonnier of Elizabeth
Bert is preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Marie Brignac; sister, Betty Brignac Ware, and brothers, Donald Brignac, Winton Brignac, and Ferrel Brignac.
The family requests that visitation be observed at Ardoin's Funeral Home of Mamou on Friday,
February 1, 2019 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM. A rosary will be recited by Deacon Chuck Ortego at 6:00 PM Friday evening. Visitation will resume on Saturday, February 2, 2019 from 8:00 AM until time of service.
