MAMOU It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Berthalene Guillory Ortego, 87, announces her passing on Tuesday, December 23, 2014. A Catholic funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at 12:00 PM at St. Anns Catholic Church in Mamou. Rite of Committal will follow in the New St. Anns Cemetery with Father Melancon celebrant.
A loving mother and grandmother, Berthalene leaves behind her beloved husband of 71 years, Leroy Ortego, and her two daughters Sherran Vidrine and husband Edward and Cathy Berza and husband James all of Mamou. Her memory will also be cherished by her six grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren.
She now rests in heaven with her parents Mayo and Bertha Marcantel Guillory and her sister Mabel Ardoin.
At the request of the family, visitation will take place at Ardoins Funeral Home in Mamou on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 10:00 PM and again on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until time of service. A rosary will be recited in her honor Tuesday evening at 6:30 PM.
