Betty Jane Reed Manuel

Betty Jane Reed Manuel, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at the age of 88. Born in Duralde, Louisiana, on Thursday, January 28, 1937, Betty lived a life rich with love and creativity. Funeral Services will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Mamou on Friday, April 11, 2025, at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Old Baptist Cemetery in Mamou, Louisiana with Deacon Ben Soileau officiating services.

Betty enjoyed a fulfilling career as a bank teller at Guaranty Bank, where her warmth and dedication touched the lives of many in the community. As the family historian, she carefully collected and preserved records, sharing her knowledge and love for genealogy with those around her. Betty delighted in cross-stitching, sewing clothing, quilting, crocheting, cake decorating, and wine making.

Betty's heart was her family; she cherished every moment spent with them and held each of her loved ones dear, forging memories that will last a lifetime. She will be profoundly missed by her sons, Warren Manuel, Jr. (Cecilia), Glenn Manuel (Gaynelle), and Perry Manuel; three grandchildren, Angela Manuel Camel (Eric), Jeremy Manuel (Jennifer), and Alaina Manuel Trahan (Ryan); ten great grandchildren; and seven great great-grandchildren with two on the way.

She now rests with her parents, Lanix and Essie Vidrine Reed and brothers, Ronald Reed and Gary Reed.

A visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou on Friday, April 11, 2025 beginning at 8:00 AM until 1:30 PM. A rosary will be recited at 1:30 PM.
