MAMOU It is with great sadness that the family of Calvin Ardoin announces his passing on Monday, January 21, 2013 at Evangeline Extended Care Hospital in Mamou. He was 87 years old. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Anns Catholic Church in Mamou. Rite of Committal will follow in the New St. Ann Cemetery with Fr. Kevin Bordelon Celebrant.
Calvin served in the U.S. Army during World War II
He leaves behind a loving and caring family including his wife of 63 years, Aline Blonde Fontenot Ardoin of Mamou three sons, Greg Ardoin and wife Pat and Calvin James Ardoin and wife Jan all of Opelousas, Benny Ardoin and wife Judy of Reddell three daughters, Jeanette Theresa Ardoin Hubert and husband Charlie of Eunice, Pat Ardoin Bordelon and husband Ray of Vidrine and Cynthia Ardoin Prejean and husband Kenneth of Mamou one brother Lionel Ardoin of Mamou fifteen grandchildren, twentyfour great grandchildren and six greatgreatgrandchildren.
He now rests in Heaven with his parents, Tansey and Teah Ardoin, and one son Joseph Ricky Ardoin. At the request of the family visitation will take place on Tuesday from11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday evening.The Funeral Home will reopen on Wednesday at 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
