MAMOU- Carl John Veillon, Sr., a resident of Mamou, passed away on April 18, 2016 at the age of 73.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 22, 2016 at 1 PM in the Ardoin's Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Veillon family Cemetery with Deacon Gary Gaudin officiating.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Ardoin's Funeral Home from 11 AM until 9 PM and will reopen Friday morning at 9 AM until time of services. A rosary will be prayed in his honor Thursday evening at 6 PM.
Carl served in Vietnam as a member of the United States Navy and his spare time, enjoyed painting and gardening. He also had a passion for Cajun and tribal Indian music.
Carl is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Annie Veillon of Mamou, son, John Veillon, Jr. and wife Chau of Baltimore, MD., step sons, Charles "Chuck" Vanhorn of Danville, PA., Christopher Vanhorn and wife Christina of Catawissa, PA., step daughter, Anique Whitehurst of Iota, brother, Louis Wade Veillon and wife Becky of New Iberia, and sisters, Floretta Deshotel and husband Ronnie of Mamou and Mona Duplechain and husband Ray of Ville Platte. He also leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
He is proceeded in death by his daughter, Michele Joann Holford and grandson, Brad Joseph.
Arrangements are entrusted to Ardoin's Funeral Home of Mamou, Louisiana.
