MAMOU-Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM at New Life Church of Mamou on Saturday, October 26, 2019, for Cedric Lynn Bellard, 52, who passed away on Monday, October 21, 2019 in Mamou, LA.
Burial will take place in Zion Baptist Cemetery in Mamou.
On October 21, 2019, as the morning approached, God, and God alone drew back the curtain and brought to a close the end of a day for Cedric Lynn Bellard as he was called home.
Cedric Lynn Bellard was born on January 15, 1967 to the Late Wallace Bellard, Sr. and Theresa S. Thomas in Lafayette, Louisiana. He accepted Christ and was baptized at Zion Traveler Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Allen Ben. When he left is church home, he remained close to Christ as he fellowshipped with other ministries.
Cedric Lynn Bellard worked in the field for a few years of his life. Then, he began working for The Town of Mamou from May 21, 1996 until the time of his death. He worked for the town for 23 years. During this time, Cedric also became an entrepreneur. He started his own lawn service; Bellard’s Lawn Service and was in business for 18 years. Cedric loved cutting his grass, fishing, hunting, and riding his four-wheeler. Most of all, he enjoyed cooking BB Que as he spent time with his family camping and watching his favorite football team “LSU”.
Cedric leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Theresa S. Thomas; daughter, Britnee L. Bellard; his fiancé, Nicole Weekly; ex-wife, Fredia Matthews; four stepchildren, Lexie Regallado, Jose Regallado, Leondre Weekly, and Destin Weekly; one step grandchild, Demin Weekly; three god children, Brian K. Bellard, Kendrick Freeman, and Dacia S. Richard all of Mamou, La.; six sisters, Juanita B. Freeman (David Freeman, Sr.), Carla M. Bellard, Alberta Jack, Jacqueline Jack, Fredia Wilson (Eduin Wilson) all of Mamou, La., Jessie Semien (Harold Semien) of Venton, La.; three brothers, Jamie Bellard (Lisa Bellard), Christopher Bellard both of Mamou, La., and Pastor Wallace Bellard (Salenda Bellard) of Oberlin, La.; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends.
Cedric Lynn Bellard was preceded in death by his father, Wallace Bellard, Sr.; his son, Thaddeus Lynn Bellard; and two sisters, Brenda G. Gautherier and Marla B. Semien.
The family requests that visitation be observed at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Mamou on Friday, October 25, 2019 from 8:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Visitation will resume on Saturday, October 26, 2019 from 8:00 AM until 10:45 AM at New Life Church in Mamou.
