MAMOUIt is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of, Charles Robley Marcantel, 72, announce his passing on Friday, February 14, 2014 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette. Chapel services will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Ardoins Funeral Home Chapel in Mamou. Burial will follow in the Mount Carmel Cemetery in Chataignier with Pastor Woody Gunnel officiating.
Charles will be greatly missed by his wife of 49 years, Lorena Sonnier Marcantel of Mamou two sons Charles Brent Marcantel and Kyle Marcantel and wife Susie all of Mamou two daughters, Juanetta Bergeron and husband Dwayne of Mamou and Birona Aswad and husband Karl of Dallas, Tx. one brother Burley Marcantel of Eunice seven grandchildren, Blaise, Dylan and Paige Bergeron, Landan and Holdan Marcantel and Scout and Elia Aswad.
Charles will now reunite in Heaven with his parents, Bodier and Elia Marcantel one son Christopher Gerard Marcantel one brother, Elwood Marcantel and two sisters, Wilma Dean Johnson and Theresa Sylvester. Their reunion will surely be a joyous one.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home on Saturday, February 15, 2014 from 3:00 pm until 10:00 pm The Funeral Home will reopen at 8:00 am on Sunday until time of services.
