Charles Robinson

MAMOU – Funeral services will be held at an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou on Saturday, January 8, 2022, for Charles Owen “Buddy” Robinson, 82, who passed away peacefully on Monday, January 3, 2022, in Ville Platte.

Father Billy Massie will be celebrant of the Mass.

Charles Owen “Buddy” Robinson was born on September 30, 1939, to Glen H. Robinson, Sr. and Marguerite Trahan Robinson of Welsh, LA.  He was such a character with a very colorful life storytelling ability.  Buddy spent most of his working years in education teaching math, science, and agriculture.  He loved ranching and rodeo as well as anything his grandkids and great grandkids were doing.  His greatest joy was spending time with his family.  He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

He is survived by his son, James Rowdy Robinson and wife, Ruby of Las Vegas, NM; daughters., Debbie R. Toman and husband, Ricky of Hockley, TX and Diane R. Fontenot and husband, Donovan of Ville Platte; ten grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude Pevoto Robinson; parents, Glen H. Robinson, Sr. and Marguerite Trahan Robinson; sister, Elizabeth Peveto Garvey; and brother, Glen H. Robinson, Jr.

At the request of the family, visitation will be observed at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou on Friday, January 7, 2022, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A rosary will be prayed on Friday at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume Saturday, January 8, 2022, from 8:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM.
