Mamou It is with great sadness that the family of Cherry Fern Chapman, 81 announces her passing on Sunday, January 3, 2010. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anns Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow in the New St. Anns Mausoleum with Fr. Jude Celebrant.
A loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister, Cherry will be lovingly remembered by her son, Webton Ray Manuel and wife, Kazuko Mockie of Mamou daughter, Charlotte Ann Stewart and husband, Charles of Crooked Creek three sisters, Juanita Rosenboom of Turkey Creek, Willie Mae Fruge of Ville Platte, and Anna Lavergne Fontenot of Mamou four grandchildren, Webton Ray Manuel, Jr., Christopher Brian Andrus, Betty Ann Fontenot, and Kennith Adam Manuel, and six great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, O.C. Chapman parents, Raoul and Delia Fontenot, and a sister, Louella Chapman.
The family request that visiting hours be observed Tuesday, January 5, 2010 from 12:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 from 7:00 a.m. until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday.
