MAMOU-It is with heavy hearts that the family of Cora Mae Rozas Fontenot announces her passing on Monday, August 01, 2016 at Oaklane Wellness and Rehabilitation Center in Eunice with loving family by her side at the age of 88. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Thursday, August 04, 2016 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Mamou. Rite of Committal will follow in New St. Ann Mausoleum with Father Alphonse Thainese Celebrant.
Cora was a beloved homemaker, mother, and grandmother who dedicated herself to the care of her family. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her especially her son, James Darnell Fontenot of Crosby, TX; daughters, Mary Eza Fontenot Guillory and husband, Don, and Emmaline Fontenot Martin and husband, Carl, all of Crosby, TX; eight grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren; as well as extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Whitney Fontenot; parents, Armas and Melicia Rozas; brothers, Curry and Dudley Rozas; and sister, Eza Mary Dougia.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Mamou on Wednesday, August 3rd from 11:00 am until 9:00 pm, and again on Thursday, August 4th from 8:00 am until time of services. Father Alphonse Thainese will recite a rosary Wednesday evening at 6:30 pm.
