Corina Granger

MAMOU – Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 PM at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, for Corina M. Granger, 88, who passed away on Friday, August 20, 2021.

Father Billy Massie will conduct services.

Burial will take place in the L’Anse Meg Cemetery.

Corina M. Granger was born on August 23, 1932, in Mamou, LA to Jouel McGee and Nita Dupre McGee.  Corina was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  She had a strong Catholic faith and watched masses on TV when she couldn’t attend and prayed the rosary often.  Corina enjoyed life and often attended the Cajun Music Festival and Mardi Gras celebrations.  She was very generous and enjoyed shopping and buying “lil treats” for everyone.  One of Corina’s greatest joys was that of cooking for her family especially her homemade fudge and delicious gumbo.  Corina’s daughters meant everything to her and she was in contact with them throughout the day every day.  She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered as the sweetest and most genuine person who loved life and lived it to its fullest.

She is survived by her two daughters, Sherry Granger Thibodeaux and husband, Michael Thibodeaux of Lafayette and Judy McBride and husband Greg of Mamou; five grandchildren, Heidi Berzas and husband Casey, Derek McCauley, Chelsea McCauley Levasseur and husband, Paul, Hunter Caleb McBride and Ronnie Jouel McBride; eight great grandchildren, Karlee, Addie, Ellis and Ian Berzas, Liam and Jolie McCauley, Jones and Rhodes Levasseur; one sister, Gercie "Bea" Vidrine of Houston, TX.

She is preceded in death by her parents; the love of her life and husband of 57 years, Lee Roy Granger;  infant son, Joseph Granger; son, Ronnie James Granger; sister, Lovina Aguillard; two brothers, Allen McGee and Mervin McGee.

At the request of the family, visitation will take place at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Mamou on Monday, August 23, 2021, from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM. A rosary will be prayed in her honor on Monday at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, from 8:00 AM until time of service.
