Cynthia Ann Veillon, born on July 25, 1949, in Ville Platte, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 28, 2025, at the age of 75 at Prairie Manor Nursing Home. Cynthia was a beloved figure in her community, known for her warm spirit and engaging personality. A Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Father Dugas on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at St. Ann Catholic Church, beginning at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Reed Cemetery.
A dedicated beautician at Kuts and Kurt's, Cynthia spent her career making others feel beautiful. She also served as a store clerk at Ray Matt's True Value and worked at T-Boy's Slaughterhouse, embodying an admirable work ethic throughout her life.
Cynthia’s vibrant personality shone brightly as she enjoyed socializing and visiting with friends and family. She had an enduring passion for reading and nurturing her plants, showcasing her love for nature. Cynthia treasured her time at Prairie Manor, where she formed friendships that enriched her life. In recognition of her vivacious spirit, she was crowned the Boggy Bayou Senior Queen in 2016, a moment of pride that she cherished.
She will be deeply missed by her children, Paul Veillon (Nancy) of Mamou, John Dexter Veillon (Kellie) of Alexandria, Laurie Berzas (Paul “T-Boy”) of Mamou; her sister, Mary Sheila Fontenot (Fred( of St. Landry; her grandchildren, Anthony LeBouff, Katie Savoy, Brent Berzas, Bryce Veillon and Lindsey Veillon. She will also be missed by her 10 great-grandchildren and her great-great-grandchildren that is on the way.
Cynthia is proceeded in death by her loving husband, Floyd Veillon; her daughter, Angela Marie Veillon; her parents, Curtis Dupuis and Anna Laura Fontenot Johnson; and her stepfather, Roy Johnson.
Visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Mamou on Thursday, March 6, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM with a Rosary being recited at 1:00 PM.
Cynthia Ann Veillon will be remembered not just for her roles in her career, but most importantly for her loving nature and the joy she brought to those around her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
