Daniel Horton, Iii

LOREAUVILLE – A Memorial Mass will be held for Daniel Benjamin Horton, III at 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Loreauville.  Father Buddy Breaux will be celebrant of the mass and conduct services. Entombment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum in Loreauville, LA.

A rosary will be recited at 1:00 PM, Thursday, May 5, 2022, an hour before the service.

Daniel Benjamin Horton, III was born on November 10, 1944, in Breaux Bridge, LA to Daniel Benjamin Horton, Jr. and Ruth Guidry Horton.  He passed away peacefully on April 29, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.

Daniel proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War.  He retired from CLECO after working for many years as a Senior Apparatus Mechanic. Daniel was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.  He enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing and hunting.  He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Benjamin Horton, Jr. and Ruth Guidry Horton; and his first wife, Sandra Provost Horton.

Daniel leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife, Benita Molitor Horton of Loreauville; daughter Kimberly Monteaux and husband Glenn of Loreauville; son Daniel Benjamin Horton, IV and wife Shauntelle of Loreauville; daughter Jennifer Barras and husband Robert of Loreauville; 4 granddaughters, 3 grandsons, and 5 great-grandchildren; step-daughter Ivy Lemon husband Paul of Mississippi; 2 stepsons, Korey Molitor of Loreauville and Scotty Molitor of Lake Charles; 3 step-granddaughters, one step-grandson, 2 great-grandchildren. He also has many nieces, nephews and friends.
