MAMOU -- David Lloyd Thibodeaux, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on September 25, 2023, in Mamou, Louisiana. Born on November 6, 1964, in Lafayette, Louisiana, David led a remarkable life that touched the hearts of all who knew him.

David dedicated his career to the oil and gas industry as a construction coordinator. He exhibited immense dedication and passion in his profession, leaving a lasting impact on his colleagues and the industry. David possessed a vibrant personality that illuminated every room he entered. He had an unwavering love for preserving the Cajun culture and Cajun French language—a passion that stemmed from his deep roots in Louisiana. As a testament to his commitment to this heritage, David actively played with the Church Point Playboys, ensuring that the lively Cajun traditions were celebrated and cherished for generations to come. He expressed himself through music by playing the bass guitar and drums—an outlet for his innermost emotions. David adored woodworking and poured his heart into creating intricate pieces that showcased his talent and creativity. However, nothing compared to the love he had for his family. The memories he created with them will forever be treasured. Some of their most cherished moments together were spent during holidays when they gathered as one big family. Watching the holiday fireworks light up the night sky brought immense joy to David's heart as he witnessed multiple generations coming together with laughter and love.

Cherishing David’s memory are those who survive him: Sherolin Thibodeaux, loving wife of 35 years; sons, Donny Soileau and wife, Jamie, Richard Soileau and wife Jennifer, Justin Soileau; daughter, Shauna Satterwhite and husband B.J.; sisters, Carol Brown, and Laura Thibodeaux; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Their lives were forever touched by his presence, and his memory will continue to inspire and guide them through the years.
