Deanna Rollins

MAMOU – Funeral services will be held at a 2:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 for Deanna Rollins, 77, who passed surrounded by her loving family.

Father Billy Massie, pastor of St. Ann's Catholic Church, will be celebrant of the mass and conduct funeral services.

Burial will take place in Platin Cemetery.

Deanna Rollins beloved mother, grandmother, and friend to all that knew her, was called to her eternal resting place on February 7, 2021. She entered this world on September 17, 1943 in Ville Platte, LA, born to Prosper Fontenot and Hazel Fontenot.

She is survived by her 5 children, son Alton Terrell Rollins and his wife Cheryl, daughter Marcia Chapman and her husband Rickey, daughter Danita Tate and her husband Andrew, daughter Polly, and daughter Reva West and husband Shawn.  She is also survived by her sister Ruby Gilbert and her brother Prosper "Bo" Fontenot.  12 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. They were her pride and joy. She enjoyed cooking large meals where they all gathered on Sundays. It was her favorite day of the week.

She was joyfully welcomed into heaven by her husband Cecil, her parents Prosper and Hazel Fontenot, her 2 sisters Rita and Ferald and her son in law Adam Fruge.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Monday, February 8, 2021 at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou from 2:00PM until 8:00 PM.  Visitation will resume on Tuesday February 9, 2021 from 8:00 AM until time of service.  A rosary will be prayed in her honor on Monday evening at 6:00 PM and will be led by Deacon Chuck.
