MAMOUA wonderful husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend , Donald Marcantel, will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Donald died peacefully on Saturday, August 29,2010 at Savoy Care Center, surrounded by his loved ones. He was 51. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Ardoin Funeral Chapel in Mamou with Father Jude Thierry officiating. Rite of Committal will follow in the New St. Anns Cemetery.
Donald was a longtime employee at Mels Grocery in Reddell.
Donald leaves behind a loving and grateful family including his loving wife Helena Marcantel, the former Helena Guillory of Reddell a loving son, Adam Marcantel, of Houston a loving daughter, Amy Lanthier of Reddell one brother, Aubrey Prudhomme of Ville Platte four sisters, Sherry Lanreneau, and Diana Fontenot both of Mamou, June Powell of Vidrine, and Patricia Fontenot of Reddell. three grandchildren Alyssa, and Trevan Lanthier, and Timothy Adam Marcantel.
Now he rests in heaven with his beloved mother, Dora Marcantel three brothers, Frank Prudhomme, Billy LeJeune, and Ricky Prudhomme.
The family requests that visitation take place on Monday, August 30, 2010 from 12:00 pm until 10:00 pm at Ardoin Funeral Home in Mamou.
