MAMOUA Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 30, 2014 for Dorothy Nell Dot Tate Fontenot, 76 at St. Anns Catholic Church in Mamou. Rite of Committal will follow in the old Ville Platte Cemetery in Ville Platte, with Fr. Thainese Celebrant.
Ms. Dot is a retired English and Home Economics Teacher after teaching 36years from Vidrine and Mamou High Schools. Her favorite hobby was cooking for her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. She enjoyed watching the grandchildren in Sports and Rodeos as well as spending time with family and friends.
A wonderful, mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother and friend Ms. Dot will be greatly missed by her four sons, David Isaac Fontenot and wife, Deborah, Dr. Tommy Fontenot and wife, Lori, Barry Paul Fontenot and wife, Stephanie and Donovan Kurt Fontenot and wife, Diane all of Ville Platte and one daughter, Anne Reed and husband, Mike of Pine Prairie thirteen grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren.
Ms. Dot was preceded in death by her parents, Isaac and Fedora Vidrine Tate and one grandchild, Joshua Paul Fontenot.
At the request of the family visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Mamou on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday evening. The Funeral Home will reopen 8:00 a.m. on Thursday until time of services
