Edna Fuselier’s Obituary

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou for Edna B. Fuselier, age 81, with internment following in the New St. Ann’s Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. for family and at 5:00 p.m. for the public. The funeral home will close at 9:00 p.m. and re-open Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at 8:00 a.m. until time of service

A rosary, recited by Deacon Gary Gaudin, will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday evening, March 29, 2022.

Edna peacefully passed away on March 27, 2022 surrounded by loved ones, after a 12 year battle with Alzheimer’s. Edna was born on April 12, 1940 to Lucille Forestier and Frank A. Bertrand in Mamou.

Edna met Harrison Fuselier while in school and they were married in 1955, going on to have 3 children, Donald Dean Fuselier, married to Deborah, Jan Fuselier Garcille, and Connie Fuselier, married to Keith Hollier. Edna was a loving mom and grandmother to all her children and grandchildren. Family came first to Edna, a value she instilled in all those around her. The hole left by her absence is impossible to fill.

Edna is predeceased by her husband Harrison Fuselier of 50 years, brothers Clarence Bertrand, Francis Bertrand, Burt Bertrand, sister Mary Lafleur, and son-in-law Roth Garcille. She is survived by 2 sisters, Emma LeDoux and Pearl Bertrand, her 3 children, Dean Fuselier, Jan Garcille, and Connie Hollier, 8 grandchildren, Eric Garcille and wife Alison, Chuck Garcille and wife Lauren, Brett Garcille and wife Laura, Michael Hollier, Dawn Babineaux and husband Anthony, Tammy Vidrine and husband Grant, Amanda Richard, Brian Lorio and wife Jada, and 14 great grandchildren.
