MAMOUIt is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Effie Menier, 92, announces her passing on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Savoy Medical Center in Mamou. A Christian Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 11:00 am at St. Anns Catholic Church in Mamou. Interment will follow at the New St. Anns Cemetery in Mamou with Father Mark Melancon officiating.
Effie was a homemaker and dedicated herself to the love and care of her family, and was a member of The Catholic Daughters of St. Anns Catholic Church and a member of The St. Anns Ladies Alter Society. Effie was a prayer warrior, faithfully saying her rosary. She cherished gardening and cooking A loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and friend, she leaves behind to cherish her memory of her son, Michael Bergeron and wife Glenda of Eunice, and step sons, Willand Menier and wife Rella of Ville Platte and Dale Menier and wife Flo of Mamou her daughters, Alida Bazar of Mamou and Diana Pierrotti and husband Warren of Mamou one daughterinlaw, Barbara Bergeron of Mamou her brother Hubert Blanchard of Eunice and countless grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She will be missed dearly by all who know and love her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Alida Blanchard first husband, Jimmie Bergeron second husband, Avabe Menier son, Larry Bergeron sister Mabel Blanchard and son in law, Nathan Bazar.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Mamou on Friday, March 8, 2012 from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm, and again on Saturday, March 9, 2013 from 8:00 am until time of Services. A Rosary will be recited on March 8, 2013 6:00 pm
