MAMOUIt is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Ellie Deshotel announces her passing on Thursday, February 03, 2011 at Mercy Regional Hospital in Ville Platte, at the age of 89. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at St. Ann Catholic Church in Mamou at 10:00 am on Tuesday, February 08, 2011. Interment will follow in the St. Peter Cemetery with Father Mark Melancon officiating.

Ellie, a loving cousin, aunt and friend, will be sadly missed by her caretaker and cousin, Essie Mae Thompson of Grey Cove and also numerous nieces and nephews. Ellie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She now rests in Heaven with her beloved parents, Arnold and Clemence Deshotel.

At the request of the Deshotel family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Mamou on Monday, February 07, 2011 from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again on Tuesday, February 08, 2011 from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 7:30 pm on Monday evening.
