MAMOUIt is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of, Emma Dean Fontenot, 68 announce her passing on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 12:45 am at her residence in Mamou. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2014 2:00 pm at St. Peters Catholic Church in Pine Prairie Rite of Committal will follow in the Ortego Cemetery in Lanse Greis with Father Richard Broussard as Celebrant.
Emma will be greatly missed by her husband of 50 years, Buzz Fontenot of Mamou
Two daughters, Lisa F. Broussard and husband, Mitch of Vidrine and Renee Persicke and husband, Byron of Spokane Valley, Washington four brothers, Byron Soileau and Carroll Soileau both of Reddell, Jerry Soileau of Mamou and Kenneth Soileau of Baton Rouge one sister Ella Kilgore of Mamou four grandchildren, Dustin Fontenot, Jordan Fontenot, Alexis Persicke, Ethan Persicke one great grandchild, Jaxon Fontenot.
The family would like to give a Special Thanks to the Hospice Nurses for their Care and Compassion they provided for our Loved one , Rose, Regina, Nicole, Joan, Lisa and Rita,
and a very special thanks to Father Richard Broussard .
Emma will now reunite in Heaven with her son, Mitchell Paul Fontenot and her parents, Melvin and Exzina Soileau.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home on Saturday, March 1, 2014 from 3:00 pm until 10:00 pm. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm by Deacon Chuck Ortego The Funeral Home will reopen on Sunday at 8:00 am until time of services.
