MAMOU- A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at St. Anns Catholic Church in Mamou for Enis Guillory Fontenot,85, who passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2008, at Lakeview Manor Nursing Home in New Roads. Rite of Committal will follow in the Reed Cemetery with Father Pius Vallooran Celebrant.
Enis was a native of Mamou, La., a housewife, the last living of eleven children and was the First Woman Appointed to the City Council of Mamou.
A Loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great Great Grandmother, Enis is survived by her daughter, Ellen Fontenot Crochet and husband, Billy of Morganza, La.; one son, John Craig Fontenot of Mamou; three grandchildren, Tony Crochet and wife, Leslie of Baton Rouge, Ann Monk and husband, John of Port Allen and Liz Jarreau and husband, Larry of Jarreau, La.; two step grandchildren, Kay Smith and Danny Miller both of Beaumont, Tx.; seven great grandchildren, Derek, Blake and Peyton Crochet, Morgan and Quinn Ducote, James Jarreau and wife, Alicia, and Shelby Jarreau; and one great great grandchild, Kaylie Jarreau.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hadley B. Fontenot; parents, Fereal and Auror Guillory; and ten brothers and sisters.
The family request that visiting hours be observed at Ardoins Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 19, 2008, from 10:00 am until time of services at 2:00 pm.
