MAMOUIt is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Ernest Joseph Granger announces his passing on Thursday, November 03, 2011 at Lafayette General Hospital in Lafayette, at the age of 84. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at St. Anns Catholic Church in Mamou, on Monday November 7, 2011 at 10:00 am Rite of Committial will follow in the New St. Anns Mausoleum with Father Mark Melancon Celebrant.
Ernest an incredible father, husband, grandfather, and friend will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by hs wife, Mary Ann Granger of Lafayette two sons, Gregory Granger and wife Pamela Francis and Robert Joseph Granger and wife Joy of Johntown, Co. one daughter, Annette L. Guidry and husband, James D. of Mamou, one stepdaughter, Cabrini Broussard of Lafayete eleventgrandchildren and nineteen greatgrandchildren and a host of family and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents, Relis and Dorzina Granger, his first wife, Dorothy Granger one daughter, Rebecca Hall one brother, Lawrence Granger and two sisters, Hazel LaCombe and Betty Jane Manuel
Mr Ernest owned and operated a Furrniture Store in Mamou and sold Furniture in this area for many years. He loved his family and loved to dance, BarBQ, and Bowl.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Mamou on Sunday, November 06, 2011 from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm and again on Monday November 07, 2011 from 8:00 am until time of services..a Rosary will be recited on Sunday, evening by Deacon Roderick Perron.
