MAMOU It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Steve McGee, 81 announces his passing on Monday, December 1, 2014 at 1:20 a.m. at Savoy Medical Center in Mamou. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 03, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anns Catholic Church in Mamou. Rite of Committal will follow in the Reed Cemetery in Lanse Meg.

A loving father, grandfather and greatgrandfather, brother and friend, Steve leaves behind five children, Donald McGee and wife, Christine of Winder, Ga, Gerald McGee and wife Lorie of Raceland, Kenneth McGee and wife, Martha of Bufford ,Ga, Debra Girod and husband, Douglas of Olla and Sandra Naquin and husband, Ricky of Mamou one brother, Lionel McGee and wife, Winnie of Ville Platte and Mary McGee Anderson of Reserve. He was further blessed with fourteen grandchildren and Twentyeight great grandchildren. They were the absolute light of his life.
He will now rest in Heaven with his parents ,four brothers and one sister two grandchildren, Dalton Wayne Meredith and Joshua Paul McGee. They surely await his arrival with open arms and joyous hearts.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 from 2:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday Evening. The Funeral Home will reopen on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at 8:00 a.m. until time of services. Family and friends may view the online obituary and sign the guestbook at www.ardoinfuneralhomes.com.
