MAMOU- It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Ethelie F. Gahn, 84, announces her passing on Tuesday, March 16, 2015 at 3:25 A.M. at her residence in Mamou. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Mamou on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 3:00 P.M. Rite of Committal will follow in the New St. Ann's Cemetery with Father Mark Melancon as Celebrant.
Ethelie and her husband were proud business owners of Gahn Motor Service for more than 50 years.
Ethelie is survived by her three children, Jonathan Gahn and wife, Elizabeth of Patterson, Thomas Gahn, Jr. and wife, Michelle of Mamou and Paula Renee Walden and husband, James of Mamou; one brother, Frank Fontenot of Baton Rouge; eleven grandchildren, Caroline, Gabrielle, Conner, Troy and Corey Gahn, Jamie Lafleur, Jack Lafleur, Sarah Disatell, Taylor Walden, Alana McClaskey and Jason Walden; fourteen great-grandchildren.
She will now reunite in Heaven with her husband, Thomas Gahn, Sr., her parents, Zeal Fontenot and Mable Fontenot Chapman, her children, Thomas,& Theresa Gahn and Becky G. LaFleur; three brothers, Ron, Dr. James and Richard Fontenot and one grandchild, Chad Walden. They surely await her arrival with open arms and joyous hearts
The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 2:30 P.M.on Wednesday.
