MAMOU - Funeral services will be held Monday, April 25, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Mamou for Evans West, age 95, who passed away on April 22, 2022 in Mamou. The funeral service will be conducted by Deacon Chuck Ortego, with entombment to follow in the New St. Ann’s mausoleum.

In 1926, Evans was born in Point Blue to Gustav West of Point Blue and Christina Geitz of Germany. He was a rice and crawfish farmer at West Farms. He loved to ride his four-wheeler all day throughout Lanse Meg. He loved to visit his friends and talk about any-and-everything. He cherished his family who will dearly miss him.

Evans is survived by: his sons, Donald James West and wife Dianna Dale of Mamou, and David Chad West and wife Lucretia of Lanse Meg; his daughter, Glenda Fuselier and husband AJ. of Eunice; brother, Ronald Joseph West; grandchildren, Shelly Bellard, Scot Fuselier, Joey Fuselier, Shawn West, Tyler West, Kelly Landreneau; great-grandchildren, James, Nita, Clay, Dylan, Alyssa, Jenna, Beau, Luke, Chase, Connor, Alec, Ava, Ashton; great-great-grandchildren, Sutton, Kash, and Kallen.

Evans was preceded in death by his wife, Mercedes Dupre West, his parents, Gustav West and Christina Geitz, and his brothers, Harry L. West and Lonnis West.

Visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou on Sunday, April 24, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The funeral home will re-open Monday, April 25, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. until time of service. A rosary, recited by Deacon Chuck Ortego, will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, April 24.
