MAMOU-A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, Gladys B. Naquin, age 82 will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Gladys a long time resident of Reddell passed away peacefully following a lengthy illness on Friday, June 05, 2009 at home surrounded by her husband and her four kids.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at St. Anns Catholic Church in Mamou on Saturday, June 06, 2009 at 12 noon. Rite of Committal will follow in the New St. Ann Cemetery with Father Frances Bourgeois Celebrant.
Gladys will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 63 years, Blaney Bee Naquin of Reddell; her two daughters, Joy and her husband, John Smith of Roanoke, and Barbara and her husband, Tony Comeaux of Reddell; her two sons, Jessie R. Naquin of Lafayette and daughter in law Ms. Phyllis Naquin of Scott, and Gary Naquin of Reddell and her one sister, Nita Monier of Reddell; her six loving grandchildren, Shelly Smith of Lake Charles, Scotty Smith of Youngsville, Michael Comeaux of Mamou, Phillip Comeaux of Reddell, Kevin Naquin of Duson and Kimberly Naquin of Scott; her three step grandchildren, Calem, Lacy, and Cody; her seven great-grandchildren, Cassie, Colt, and John Colin Smith, Alyssa and Jace Comeaux, and Kaleigh and Natalie Naquin. She touched the heart and soul of everyone she met.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clem Bogard and Alida Smith; one brother, Levy Bogard and one sister, Hester Bogard.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home of Mamou on Friday, June 05, 2009 from 2:00 pm until time of services on Saturday, June 06, 2009. A Rosary will be recited at 7:30 pm Friday evening.
