Mamou- Funeral services for Mr. James B. Ortego will be held at 3:00 p.m.Friday, September 1, 2006 at St. Anns Catholic Church. Burial will following the Evangeline Memorial Park Cemetery with Fr. Pius Vallooran Officiating.

Mr. Ortego, age 72, a resident of Mamou, La, died on Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at Savoy Medical Center following a short illness. He was a retired HeavyEquipment Operator. Mr Ortego was preceded in death by his parents, Juslin Margaret Ardoin Ortego; one daughter, Kathy J. Ortego; one brother Floyd Ortego; one sister, Juanita Ortego Buller.

The visitation will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2006 from 4:00 p.m.-10;00 P.M .

And again on Friday from 8:00 a.m. until time services. A rosary will be recited on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m.

Survivors include his wife, Leona M. Ortego of Mamou, La; three sons, Barry G. Ortego, David Floyd Ortego wife, Jackie, James B. Ortego, Jr. all of Mamou, La;

Two daughters, Mary E. Eleanor Ortego Deshotel husband, Meguel Elizabeth Ortego, all of Mamou, La.; three brothers, Henery Ortego, Robert Ortego both of Ville Platte, La., John Stanley Ortego, of Bunkie, La; eleven grandchildren, Dillard Ortego, Lafayette, La. Krystal Ortego, Mamou,La, Coby Ortego Eunice, La, Travis Ortego, Texas, Teri, Meguel, and Kelly Deshotel all of Mamou,La, Meckinzie Ortego, Marty, Nick, BR Dorie Arnaud all of Mamou,La.
