MAMOU – Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou on Saturday, August 28, 2021, for James Carl Fusilier, 87, who passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2021.
Deacon Ben Soileau will conduct funeral services.
Burial will take place at New St. Ann’s Cemetery.
James Carl Fusilier was born on January 13, 1934, in Reddell, LA to Edwin and Bessie Fontenot Fusilier. Carl was the owner and operator of Fusilier Lumbar Yard for many years. He was a great provider for his family and loved them immensely. He did all he could to ensure their success. He enjoyed listening and dancing to Cajun music with his wife Claire. Carl loved being outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, or camping with his family. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
He is survived by his two sons, Brent Fusilier and wife, Vicky and Rudy Fusilier and wife, Joan; three daughters, Angela Rozas and husband, Michael, Carla Van Neste and husband, Sam, and Christina Knight and husband, Tim; twelve grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Claire Ann Fusilier; parents, Edwin and Bessie Fontenot Fusilier; sister, Dean Fontenot; and grandson, Gabriel Manuel.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou from 10:00 AM until time of service.
