James Lanthier

MAMOUIt is with great sadness that the family of James Rodney Lanthier, 74, announces his passing on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Lafayette. Visitation will be held Friday, April 15, 2011 from 2:00pm until 10:00pm at Ardoins Funeral Home of Mamou. A Rosary will be recited Friday evening at 6:30pm. Burial will be held at a later date in the New St. Ann Cemetery with Father Chanh Nguyen celebrant.

James was a Veteran of the United States Navy serving from 1955 until 1958. He worked hard his whole life and enjoyed reading in his spare time. He will be remembered by his mother, Mary Miller Lanthier of Mamou three daughters, Karen Bertrand and husband Jr. , Ellen Smith and husband Lynn, all of Eunice, and Kimberly Lanthier of Metairie four brothers, Nolan Lanthier of Sulphur, Kenneth Lanthier and wife, Gloria of Moss Bluff, Richard Lanthier of Lake Conroe, TX, and Patrick Lanthier and wife, Mitzi of Sulphur six grandchildren, Brandon and Josh Bertrand, Jordy Lanthier, Brody and Jarred Guidry, and Jonathon Smith and five great grandchildren, Alyssa, Trevan and Sara Lanthier, and Connor and Luke Bertrand.

He now rests in heaven with his beloved wife, Loretta Lanthier father, Clarence Lanthier and son, Anthony Lanthier.
