On Friday, May 26, 2017, James Carol "Jimmy" Soileau left this world to join the angels at the age of 60. Jimmy was a man who enjoyed life and believed in living it to its fullest. He loved fishing, especially fly fishing with Be Deshotel, and sometimes he even caught a few. When Jimmy wasn't in the lake, he enjoyed hunting and riding his Harley Davidson. Jimmy was a true outdoorsman, not only when it came to his hobbies, but also when on the job in the construction business.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his mother Maryilyn Soileau of Mamou, sisters Donna Fontenot and Nancy Soileau both of Vidrine, and many nieces and nephews.

Jimmy now joins in Heaven his father Arvin "Joe" Soileau and his brother-in-law Vorance Fontenot.

His family and friends will bid him a final farewell on Monday, May 29, 2017 at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Mamou. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM until the funeral at 4:00 PM. A rosary will be prayed in his honor Monday at 2:00 PM which will be led by Father Gene Tremie. Jimmy will be laid to rest in the Platin Cemetery.
