Jane Eldine “Dean” Fontenot was born in Mamou, LA on July 28, 1940 to Edwin and Bessie Fusilier. Dean was a lifelong resident of Reddell, LA. She enjoyed reading, visiting friends, the beach, painting, coloring, and flower gardening. Dean was known for keeping all sorts of tools in her trunk just in case she saw or found something interesting that she wanted to pick up or dig out of the ground from the side of the road while she was driving around. Dean’s greatest love was the love she had for God and her family. Many beautiful memories were made on their family trips to Holly Beach, where they spent time crabbing - boiled crabs were one of her favorite meals. Dean & Verbis took their family on several adventurous family vacations. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves behind to cherish her wonderful memories her three daughters, Linda Sylvester and husband Kent of Carencro, Dorothy Fontenot and husband Black Berzas of Reddell, and Theresa Ducote and husband Nolan of Hessmer; brother, Carl Fusilier of Reddell; six grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.
Jane “Dean” is preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Bessie Fusilier and the father of her 3 children, Verbis Fontenot.
