Vidrine It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Jerry Lee Thompson, 63, announces his passing on Monday, July 1, 2013, at Savoy Medical Center in Mamou. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at 4:00 PM at St. Ann Catholic Church in Mamou. Rite of Committal will be in the Platin Cemetery with Father Mark Melancon Celebrant.
Jerry was a Retired School teacher and FFA Advisor, and was a current Evangeline Parish School Board Member.
Jerry will be greatly missed by his wife, of 42 years, Veronica Tate Thompson of Vidrine two daughters, Monique Thompson Fontenot and husband Jacob and Erika Lee Thompson Hicks all of Vidrine. The joys of his life were his six grandchildren, Gabrielle, Andrew, Amelia and Sophia Fontenot and Landon and Kaylee Hicks.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Mamou on Tuesday, July 2, 2013, from 6:00 PM until 10:00 PM and again on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 from 9:00 AM until Services. A Rosary will be recited at 7:30 pm Tuesday evening.
