MAMOU It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of John Cyrus Pelican announces his passing on Friday, February 18, 2011 at his residence at the age of 70. Chapel Services will be held at the Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel in Mamou at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 20, 2011. Burial will be in the New St. Ann Cemetery with Brother Ervin Goodman Officiating. A loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, greatgrandfather and friend, John is survived by his wife Betty Verrett Pelican of Morgan City one son John Cyrus Pelican, Jr. of Basile two daughters, Flora Howell of Mamou, and Cindy Boone of Mamou two brothers, Lee Roger Pelican of Mamou, and Rayford Pelican of New Orleans one sister Delores Wilks of Ville Platte. seven grandchildren and fifteen greatgrandchildren. He now rests in Heaven with his beloved parents, Paul and Amy Pelican, one son, Maxwell, Pelican, one grandson, Danny Howell, Jr. and two brothers, Roland and Eldon Pelican.
At the request of the family visitation will be held Saturday, February 19, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. until time of Services.
