MAMOU-It is with heavy hearts that the family of John L. Roya announces his passing on Monday, December 14, 2015 at the Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge at the age of 64. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Ardoin's Funeral Home Chapel in Mamou. Burial will follow in the Highland Memorial Park Cemetery in Lake Charles with Pastor Vernon Martindale officiating.

John was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He was an LPN at Savoy Medical Center in Mamou for the past 15 years and loved spending time with his grandchildren and family. John was a loving father, brother, grandfather, and friend and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him especially his daughter, Stephanie Roya of Mamou; three brothers, Clifford J. Roya and wife, Fran of Boston, MA, Lawrence A. Roya and wife, Aurelia "Peanut" of Lake Charles, and Dean J. Roya and wife, Mary of Houston, TX; three sisters, Oliva Marie McDaniel of Deridder, Eugenia Brewington of Westlake, and Linda R. Martin of Lake Charles; three grandchildren, Caitlyn Wade, Aleigh Wade, and Ayden Roya; previous spouse, Vicki L. Roya of Ardmore, OK; as well as extended family and dear friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Amelian Hargrave Roya; son, Michael Wayne Roya; and sister, Geneva LeJeune.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Mamou on Friday, December 18th from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm, and again on Saturday, December 19th from 8:00 am until services.
