VILLE PLATTEIt is with great sadness that the family of Joseph Eull Brown, 78, announces his passing on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at Lafayette General Hospital. A Christian Funeral will be held at 3:30 PM, Friday, August 19, 2011 in the Ardoins Funeral Home Chapel in Mamou. Interment will follow at the M. B. Fontenot Cemetery in Ville Platte with Fr. Garrett McIntyre as Celebrant.
A loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Joseph is survived by his devoted wife, Shirley LeBleu Brown, his three sons, Kenneth Brown and his wife Gwen, of Pine Prairie, Darrell Brown and his wife Tina of Ville Platte and Derrick TBoy Brown and his wife Rhonda, also of Ville Platte. He also leaves behind his daughter, Sherry Vidrine and her husband Kenneth, of Bayou Chicot. His precious grand children, Wendy Fontenot. Stephanie Matherne, Haley and Katie Brown, Amber and Kenny Vidrine and Ethan and Austin Brown his great grandchildren, Joshua, Hannah and Aliona Fontenot and Aiden Matherne were most certainly the light of his life.
Joseph was preceded in death his parents, Sosthene and Loris Brown and two brothers, Mause Brown and Duse Brown.
At the request of the family, visitation will take place at Ardoins Funeral Home in Mamou beginning at 3:00 PM Thursday, August 18, 2011 and continue until time of services Friday afternoon. A Rosary will be recited Friday afternoon at 3:00 PM.
