Joseph "Guy" C. Landry Jr.

A Mass of Christian burial for Joseph “Guy” C. Landry Jr.,78, of Mamou will be held at 2:30 PM on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at St. Ann Catholic Church. Fr. Randy Moreau will be the Celebrant of the Mass followed by Entombment at New St. Ann’s Mausoleum. Guy, a devoted father, grandfather, and skilled welder, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at his residence. Born in New Iberia, Louisiana on April 28, 1946, Guy’s life was marked by his unwavering passion for hunting, racehorse training, and rodeoing. Throughout his life, Guy's dedication to sports, Horse Racing and Rodeo, was evident, earning him respect among peers and colleagues. Today several of his grandchildren are active in the sports he was so passionate about.

Guy is survived by his beloved daughters, Tammy Parrott (Mitch), Tressy Leindecker (Randy), and Tiffany Guidry (Jamey); grandchildren, Calob Leindecker, Kendal Jarreau, Cobin Leindecker, Tobi Leger, Rowdy Parrott, Remey Parrott, Rance Guidry, and Reece Guidry; great-grandchildren, Landry Leger, Etley Leger, Jolie Leger, Pacen Parrott, Bayler Parrott, Vail Parrott, Baby Parrott (due in October), Stevie Leindecker, and Baby Leindecker (Due in July), all of with whom he shared many cherished moments. 

Guy was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Clarence Landry, Sr. and Lucille Pesson Landry.

Although now departed, Joseph's spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew him. Visitation will be held from 12:00 – 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Mamou. A Rosary will be recited at 2:00 PM.
