MAMOUA devoted family man, Joseph Audley Landreneau died on the evening of March 26, 2011 at Savoy Medical Center, surrounded by family and friends at the age of 89. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:00 am on Monday, March 28, 2011 at St. Anns Catholic Church in Mamou. Rite of Committal will follow in the New St. Anns Cemetery with Father Mark Melancon Celebrant where he will be honored with full military services.
Joseph served his country proudly in the United States Army having served in World War II as well as a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a retired farmer and school bus driver. His children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren have always been a source of pride and joy in his life which includes his five sons, Glenwood Joseph Landreneau and wife, Maffie of Houston, TX, General Bennett Charles Landreneau and wife, Delores of Alexandria, Michael Keith Landreneau and wife, Janet and Dr. Ricky Mark Landreneau and wife, Ginger all of Ville Platte and Timothy James Landreneau of Mamou. Also mourning his loss is his brother, James Burton Landreneau and wife, Patricia of Lake Charles his sister, Pearl L. LaFleur of Vidrine his thirteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Joseph was well loved and will be greatly missed.
He now rests in Heaven with his beloved wife, Audrey D. Landreneau and his parents, Louis and Ada Mayeaux Landreneau.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Mamou on Sunday, March 27, 2011 from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again on Monday, March 28, 2011 from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited Sunday evening at 7:30 pm.
