MAMOU-It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Kathleen Smith Fontenot, announces her at her residence in Breaux Bridge on January 23, 2016 at 2:08 a.m., at the age of 64. Chapel services will be held on Monday, January 25, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Ardoin's Funeral Home Chapel in Mamou. Burial will follow in the Evangeline Memorial Park in Ville Platte with Brother Dillard Duplechin officiating.
Kathy loved her family , outdoors and birds.
A wonderful mother, sister grandmother, aunt and friend Kathy will be greatly missed by her two children, John Allen Fontenot and wife, Tina of Mamou and Michelle Fontenot and Fiance', Preston of Eunice; three brothers, Allen Smith of Bayou Sorrel, Ricky Smith and Willie M. Smith both of Vidor, TX; five sisters, Gwen Colligan of Baton Rouge, Michelle Brinkman of Gonzales, Mary Ann Collins, Wanda Jarrell and Theresa David all of Vidor TX; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Kathy will now reunite in Heaven with her husband, Elvin Bruce Fontenot and her parents, Willie and Thelma Cormier Smith. They surely await her arrival with open arms and joyous hearts.
At the request of the Fontenot family visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Mamou on Sunday, January 24, 2016 from 1:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again on Monday, January 25, 2016 from 8:00 am until time of Services.
In lieu of flowers family request donations be made in Kathleen's honor to American Cancer Society.
