MAMOU – It is with great sorrow that the family of Kristen Leah Fusilier Lavergne announces her going home to her heavenly reward on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at the age of 41. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 1, 2022 at 1:00 PM at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou. Burial will follow in the First Baptist Church Cemetery in Mamou. Father Bala Rayapati will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct funeral services.
Kristen Leah Fusilier Lavergne was born on December 8, 1980, to Phillip James Fusilier and Vanessa Duplechain. Kristen was a free spirit and was a person who never met a stranger. She was very sociable, liked to be out and about, and loved to talk on the phone. Kristen’s greatest joy was that of taking care of her family. She worked hard providing a neat home for them and cooking delicious Mexican and Cajun meals. When not tending to her family, Kristen loved shopping both online and in stores. Her faith was deep and praying the rosary was part of each day. Although her time with them was short, Kristen’s family and friends will cherish her memory and keep her forever in their hearts.
Kristen will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her husband of 12 years, Joshua Lavergne of Mamou; two sons, Kaden Davy of Eunice and Joshua Bentley Blaze Lavergne, of Mamou; mother, Vanessa Duplechain of Mamou; three brothers, Derick James Fusilier, Darren Ducote of Mamou, and Donovan Fusilier of Pollock; and three sisters, Candice Fusilier Serie of Vidrine, Hana Fusilier Douget of Pine Prairie, and Heidi Ducote of Texas.
Kristen now joins in Heaven her father, Phillip James Fusilier; sister, Ashley Ducote; grandparents, Earl H. Duplechain and Elwyn Manuel Duplechain; and step father, Larry Ducote.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Monday, August 1, 2022 at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou from 9:00 AM until time of service. A rosary will be prayed in her honor Monday at 12:00 PM and will be led by Deacon Chuck Ortego.
