Linda Barousse Soileau

Linda Lorraine Barousse Soileau passed away peacefully the morning of February 17, 2025, at 80 years old. She is reunited in death with her mother, father, and loving husband, Reginald (Reggie) Soileau. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ann Catholic Church on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, beginning at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at New St. Ann Cemetery with Father Massie officiating over services.

She shared a lifetime of cherished memories with her siblings, Howard and Cathy; her children, Benjamin, Elizabeth, and Michael; her grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Kade, Kelby, Ada, Cy, and Madeline, and her great-grandchildren, Walter and Archie.

Linda was seldom seen without a book in hand and loved peaceful afternoons reading in the sun in her beloved garden. She also loved to travel and entertained her family with colorful stories from her adventures across the United States with her husband Reggie.

Linda's artistic mind and love for cooking left a lasting imprint on her family. Whether through her artwork or her inventive recipes, she expressed her passion in ways that brought people together. This shone through in her love for hosting.

She also touched many lives through her teaching, dedicating 33 years to educating and mentoring others. Her influence continues through the many students who were fortunate enough to learn from her.

Above all Linda was a strong and devoted woman, guided by faith and the love she had for her family. She found comfort and strength in her rosary, carrying it with her as a symbol of her unwavering devotion. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and resilience, which will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Rest in peace, Linda! We thank you for everything.

Visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Mamou on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, beginning at 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm with a Rosary being prayed in her honor at 6:00 pm. The visitation will resume on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at 8:00 am until the time of service.
