MAMOUIt is with great sadness that the family of Lionel James Aucoin announces his passing on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Savoy Medical Center in Mamou. He was 79. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at St. Anns Catholic Church in Mamou at 2:00 pm Father Mark Melancon Celebrant. Entombment will be in the New St. Anns Mausoleum

Lionel was a Retired Educator of thirtysix years, he also enjoyed hunting, fishing and most of all he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

A loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, greatgrandfather and friend, Lionel will be missed by his wife, Juanita Aucoin of Pine Prairie two sons, Marcus Aucoin and wife Anne of Beaver, and Sean Aucoin and wife Misti of Cypress one daughter, Angela Guillory and husband Marc of Pine Prairie one brother, Malcolm Aucoin of Mamou eight grandchildren, Justin Guillory, Jennifer Wisener, Lindsey and Lesley Aucoin, Morgan Aucoin, Lauryn, Kyle, and Bret McGee four great grandchildren, Nathan and Hunter Guillory, Braydon and Izzy Wisener.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Edia Israel Aucoin and a grandson, Jordan Aucoin

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Mamou on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 from 12:00 noon until time of services.
