MAMOU-Funeral Services will be held at an 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou on Monday, November 4, 2019, for Loretta Jane Martel, 66, who passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2019 surrounded by her loved ones.

Father Billy Massie, pastor at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, will be celebrant of the mass and will conduct all funeral services.

Burial will take place in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

Loretta Jane Martel was born in Mamou, LA on January 21, 1953 to George and Bernadette Fontenot Guillory.  She was a loving wife, mother, friend, and grandmother.  Her devotion to family was apparent every day.  She was always there for her children and grandchildren.   It was apparent that her children and grandchildren were the light of her life.  Loretta was a very generous person. She loved the holidays, especially Christmas.  She enjoyed decorating for Christmas and giving gifts.  She loved travelling, especially to the Midwest.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by one daughter, Tiffany Martel-Lee and husband, Bobby of Mamou; her companion of 25 years, David Bruce Frey of Mamou; four grandchildren, Destiny Ortego and husband, Brandon of Mamou, Brittany Ogden of Mamou, Cory Ogden of Mamou, and Chloe Ogden of Mamou; five great-grandchildren, Parker, Phelex, Eva, Aiden, and Ella.

She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Bernadette Fontenot Guillory; husband, Harry Joseph Martel; and two brothers, Nelman Guillory and Harold George Guillory.

The family requests that visitation be observed at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Mamou on Sunday, November 3, 2019 from 11:00 AM until 10:00 PM. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM Sunday. Visitation will resume on Monday, November 4, 2019 from 8:00 AM until dismissal for mass at 9:30.
