It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Lou Ella Fusilier announces her passing on Wednesday May 3, 2017 while in the care of Camelot Brookside Nursing Home in Jennings, LA. She lived until the age of 87, and was a long time resident of Reddell, LA. A Chapel Service will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Sunday, May 07, 2017 at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Mamou, LA. Burial will follow in the Platin Cemetery of Vidrine, LA with Deacon Gene Lebouf officiating.
Mrs. Lou Ella loved to quilt. She was quite good with her hands. Her favorite past times and hobbies included crocheting, sewing, and gardening. She was also very fond of traveling. She was very passionate about her life long career as a nurse, and she would still volunteer her time to help even after retiring. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her especially her two children, Jon Cody Fusilier of Opelousas, LA, and Roxi Roy and husband, Nick of Lake Arthur, LA; her brother, Farrel Fontenot and wife, Evelyn of Ville Platte, LA; ten grandchildren; and nineteen great grandchildren; as well as extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Nelman Fusilier; her parents, Lennix Fontenot and Edmonia Fontenot Young ; her stepfather, Julius Young; her son, Craig Fusilier; her sister, Claire Fusilier; and her brother, Joseph Fontenot.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Mamou, LA on Sunday, May 7th from 9:00 am until time of services. Deacon Gene Lebouf will also recite a Rosary at 1:30 pm Sunday.
