MAMOU-Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 for Wilda Rene (Miss Lynn) Vizina, 90, who passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2019 at River Oaks Retirement Manor in Lafayette, LA surrounded by loved ones.

Father Billy Massie, pastor of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, will be celebrant of the mass and will conduct all funeral services.

Burial will take place in New St Ann Cemetery.

Wilda Rene (Miss Lynn) Guillory Vizina was born in Mamou, LA on August 12, 1929 to Ferdinand and Ella Reed Guillory. She was a parishioner and active member at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou. Her greatest love was the love she had for her family. She loved spending time with her family making many memories with them. She began her work career later in life after graduating Magna Cum Laude from Southern University with a BA in Education. She held various positions during her work career from Career Development Coordinator in Crowley to Director of Savoy Day Care Center in Mamou.

She is survived by her sons, Michael Vizina and wife Betty of Youngsville, Neal Vizina and Margretta of Carencro, Andre Vizina and Emily of Carencro, David (Corky) Vizina and wife Vickie of Duson, Scott Vizina and wife Amelia of Broussard; brother, Linus Guillory of Lompoc, CA; 20 grandchildren, 3 Step-grandchildren,  32 great grandchildren , 2 Step-great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren and 3 Step-great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ferdinand and Ella Reed Guillory, husband Harry C. Vizina of 42 years and son Joseph Vincent Vizina.

The family requests that visitation be observed at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Mamou on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM.  A rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM on Tuesday. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 from 10:00 AM until time of service.

The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the staff of River Oaks Retirement Manor of Lafayette and Hospice Compassus of Lafayette for their compassion and excellent care.
