MAMOU-A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at St. Ann Catholic Church in Mamou on Monday, March 30, 2009 at 2:00 pm for Mae Fontenot, 90, who passed away on Friday, March 27, 2009 at Oak Lane Wellness and Rehabilitation in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the Old St. Ann cemetery with Father Bryce Sibley Celebrant.

Mae will be remembered as one who enjoyed being and traveling with her family and friends most of all and her loved of gardening and flowers. She will be greatly missed by her son, Aubrey Fontenot and his wife, Freida of Nederland, TX; her three daughters, Maxie Smith and husband, Tim of Eunice, Sandra Deshotels and her husband, Robert of Mont Belvieu, TX, and Connie Wallace Upton and husband, Mark of Pearland, TX; her eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Fontenot, Sr; her parents, Emanuel and Ezuide Fontenot; two grandsons, Phillip Wallace and Damian Fontenot.

The family request that visiting hours be observed on Sunday, March 29, 2009 at Ardoins Funeral Home in Mamou from 11:00 am until 9:00 pm and again on Monday, March 30, 2009 from 8:00 am until time of services. A rosary will be recited Sunday evening.
