MAMOU The beloved family of Malcolm Eliud Aucoin, 78, is deeply saddened to announce the passing of their patriarch. Malcolm left this world peacefully Wednesday, July 2, 2014 he was a patient at Savoy Medical Center of Mamou when he left this world to join his Savior in the next. Malcolms life will be celebrated during a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 1:00 PM Friday, July 4, 2014 at St. Anns Catholic Church of Mamou with Rite of Committal to immediately follow in the St. Anns Mausoleum. Father Thainese will officiate the services.

A dedicated husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, Malcolms loss will be profoundly felt by many starting with his devoted wife of fifty eight years, Barbara Rougeau Aucoin of Mamou and their precious daughter: Renee Aucoin Deshotels and her husband Thomas, also of Mamou. He was blessed with six grandchildren and was further blessed with sixteen great grandchildren they were the absolute light of his life and spending time with them was his greatest joy. During his younger years Malcolm served his country with immense pride and honor as a soldier in the United States Army he provided for the well being of his family by working for over thirty years as an educator. He influenced countless students over those years working both as a teacher and assistant principle his students from Marion High School in Lake Charles and Mamou Upper Elementary will always recall fond memories of him but his greatest source of pride was, without a doubt, his beloved family.

He will now reunite in Heaven with two of his daughters, Rachel Aucoin and Camille Aucoin Reed, his parents, Martin and Edia Isreal Aucoin and a brother, Lionel Aucoin. Their reunion will surely be a joyous one.

At the request of the Aucoins, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home of Mamou beginning at 3:00 PM Thursday, July 3, 2014 and will continue until 8:00 PM and resume at 8:00 AM Friday morning and continue until the time of the services. A Rosary will be recited in his name Thursday evening at 6:00 PM.
