MAMOU-A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 2:00 pm Thursday, March 26, 2009 at St. Anns Catholic Church in Mamou for Mamie O. Fontenot, 92, who passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at Heritage Manor in Ville Platte. Rite of Committal will follow in the New St. Anns Mausoleum with Father Conley Bertrand Celebrant.

A loving mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother, Mamie is survived by her son, J.C. Fontenot of Vidrine; her daughter, Jenette Thibodeaux of Arnaudville; daughter in-law, Jenette B. Fontenot of Ville Platte; sister, Elma Manuel of Ville Platte; seven grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Armide Guillory Ortego; husband, Dudley Fontenot; and a son, J.Y. Fontenot; brothers, Silton Ortego, Floyd Ortego, Johnny Ortego, Conny Ortego, and Shirley; a sisters, Tavey Ortego.

The family request that visiting hours be observed on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at Ardoins Funeral Home in Mamou from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm and again on Thursday, March 26, 2009 from 8:00 am until time of Services. A Rosary will be recited at 7:30 pm Wednesday evening.
